Dancing Dogs
Dancing dog groups are perenially popular and costly. The dogs are particularly vulnerable to being knocked off the base and lost, and groups retaining all the original dogs are highly desirable. The figures are about 8” tall and while we have known a few dozen, only a handful had all original dogs in place. The theme is reflected in art of the era, ranging from a simple little drawing by Rowlandson to Moreland’s well-known Dancing Dogs.
