Other Performing Animals

Groups depicting performing animal troupes are rare and are particularly vulnerable to loss. The groups command high prices. The commonest form portrays two entertainers with a bear, a dog, and a monkey before a bocage on a single base, with no two ever being quite alike.  Other depictions are even rarer. Contemporary engravings and prints attest to how accurately these groups reflect their era, and such art work may have assisted in the modelling of the groups
