Anyway, back to the meeting. The 2009 Staffordshire Figure Association meeting is being held in picturesque Lambertville, NJ from Sunday Sept 20 to Tues Sept 22. This illustrious group of enthusiastic members welcomes novices, serious collectors, and those with an interest in all things old. All that is required to join the SFA is annual dues of $35. The meeting itinerary is as below--copied from a letter sent to members recently.
Sunday, September 20th. The bus leaves our hotel at noon to take us to see a wonderful collection in an impressive river front house in Red Bank, New Jersey. We will lunch on the bus and have our Welcoming Dinner at the Inn at Lambertville Station. www.lambertvillestation.com
Monday: The bus leaves at 9:45 for Winterthur, where Pat Halfpenny, the accomplished author and ceramics curator at Winterthur, will talk to us and show us Winterthur’s Staffordshire collection. We will have Winterthur to ourselves as it is closed to the public on that day and we will be served a delicious lunch with our own butler!
That afternoon we visit the beautiful house and collection of Sheila Ferguson in Chestnut Hill, and then on to Susan Bishop who has just completed an amazing Staffordshire-filled addition to her house in Newtown Square. Lastly we will dine at the historic William Penn Inn. www.williampenninn.com
